High Resolution Micro-CT
World’s first scanner with >200Mp in each cross-section
The Bruker SkyScan 1272 high resolution micro-CT scanner non-destructively visualises virtual slices through objects up to 209 Megapixels (14450×14450 pixels). More than 2600 slices are obtained in each scan, using 16Mp and 11Mp X-ray detectors in up to three offset positions. Detect details as small as 0.35um, using phase-contrast enhancement.
Automated Scanning with Genius-Mode
If you’re new to micro-CT or short on time, use Genius-Mode to select the best parameters for your sample. Magnification, energy, filters and exposure time are automatically selected and optimised. These can also be adjusted manually to get exactly the results you want.
At intermediate resolution, the innovative flexible acquisition geometry speeds up scans several times, compared to systems with fixed source-detectors. Even at this high speed, there is no compromise to 3D X-ray image quality. InstaRecon gives you the fastest image reconstruction available, with patented algorithms that are up to 100 times faster than conventional software. More details…

Samples can be up to 75mm in diameter. The Bruker SkyScan 1272 automatically optimises X-ray energy and filtering, using a maintenance-free X-ray source and automatic 6-position filter changer. Large format high resolution micro-CT imaging is supported by multi-threaded, GPU-accelerated 3D image reconstruction. Surface and volume rendering deliver realistic visualisation.
The Bruker SkyScan 1272 includes a built-in precision micro-positioning stage. You can also scan samples during compression, tension, cooling or heating. An optional 16-position automatic sample changer enables samples to be added, removed or replaced without interrupting the scanning process. Automatic magnification adjustment and scanning protocol optimisation is available for individual samples.
Micro-CT Software (PC and Mobile Devices)
A link to micro-CT scan results can be sent automatically by email and can also be viewed on an iPad. Dedicated mobile software enables volume rendering and virtual object cuts, using intuitive touchscreen gestures. The Bruker SkyScan 1272 comes with the full range of Bruker SkyScan micro-CT software, including packages for 2D / 3D quantitative analysis and realistic 3D visualisation. The system comes supplied with a PC, including two Intel-XEON eight core processors, 128GB memory, two graphics cards (NVIDIA-Quadro and -Tesla), 12TB disk space and two 24″ monitors.
