Imina Technologies was founded in 2009, with the aim of creating new nanopositioning instruments that meet the needs of modern nanotechnology researchers. At EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland), they developed mobile robots using piezo actuators, which overcame the limitations of current nanopositioning technology.
Their first product was the miBot, the world’s most compact mobile robot, for positioning at nanometer resolution. This precision engineering technology has since been developed and expanded, and now the unique manipulator robotics are in use worldwide with a growing range of measuring instruments and microscopes.
All Imina products are manufactured in Switzerland, with the highest level of quality required by high precision systems.
Imina systems operate inside or alongside your light or electron microscope, for in situ positioning, handling and sensing. Pick, handle and position nanoparticles and micron scale objects with nanometre precision, and characterise their properties.
There are three product lines – each highly flexible and upgradeable, and custom solutions are available:
Nanoprobing System (for SEM)
Perform in situ low current electrical measurements. Characterise nanoscale samples in the vacuum chamber of your electron microscope, at the time of their observation. Suitable for retrofitting, even in small chambers, to expand the capabilities of your SEM.
Motorised manipulators for upright and inverted light microscopes, probe stations, AFM, optical breadboards, etc. Position probes and sensors precisely, and physically interact with your samples. The compact package integrates seamlessly with your system and can be used in even the most confined environments. Each robot can be upgraded and adapted by changing the connected tools.
A single platform with four manipulators, in a portable case. Characterise samples from the micrometer to the nanometer scale under light and electron microscopes. This system can be moved from one microscope to another quickly and easily in a matter of minutes. Ideal for labs with shared equipment.
