Webinar: Advanced Data Mining with Micro-XRF 04/09/18

Join Bruker for a live webinar on Tuesday 4th September 2018 about Advanced Data Mining in micro-XRF. Learn how to get a wealth of data from your sample using HyperMap data cubes, which save a full spectrum for each scanned pixel.

Blue Scientific is the official distributor for Bruker Micro-XRF in the UK, Ireland and Nordic region (Norway, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark). For more information or quotes, please get in touch.

Advanced Data Mining in Micro-XRF

Micro-XRF is an extremely flexible technique that’s suitable for a huge variety of sample types and applications. Virtually any materials can be analysed, with minimal or no preparation. This variety requires similarly flexible and advanced tools for data extraction, analysis and presentation.

Bruker’s M4 TORNADO micro-XRF spectrometer comes with dedicated, versatile software. Position-tagged spectroscopy (known as Hypermap) saves the individual spectra for every pixel. This gives you access to a wealth of data for post-processing.

Webinar Programme

The webinar will cover three examples of how to extract data from a Hypermap data cube using powerful software features:

  • Quasi homogeneous phase quantification
  • Identifying hot spots and searching for traces within these phases, using maximum pixel spectrum
  • Advanced use of line scan data, including how to export to external software

The examples will be relevant to steel analysis, geology, mining, oil and gas. The webinar will also be of interest to current micro-XRF users.

At the end of the webinar there’ll be a 15 minute Q&A session, giving the opportunity to ask the speakers any questions you have.

Speakers

  • Dr. Roald Tagle, Senior Application Scientist Micro-XRF, Bruker Nano Analytics
  • Dr. Max Buegler, Application Scientist Micro-XRF, Bruker Nano Analytics
  • Falk Reinhardt, Application Scientist Micro-XRF, Bruker Nano Analytics
