Life Science with O-PTIR

O-PTIR (Photothermal IR spectroscopy) is a breakthrough technique that overcomes the limitations of infrared:

  • Optical beam focusses 20x smaller than the IR beam, for significantly enhanced spatial resolution.
  • Study living systems (solid and liquid samples).
  • Fast and highly sensitive.
  • Sub-micron spatial resolution.

This opens up new possibilities for IR spectroscopy in life science, such as mapping drug distribution in pharmaceutical formulations and studying metabolic activities inside a living cell.

mIRage IR Microscope

  • Sub-micron spatial resolution.
  • Overcomes the limitations of IR.
  • Non-contact technique.
  • Little or no sample preparation (measure thick samples).
  • Transmission FTIR quality spectra in reflection mode.
  • Combine with simultaneous Raman spectroscopy.
